Starting in 2014, cadastral survey procedures are
gradually expanded to encompass those regions
that had not been included in the 2008 pro-
gramme, which covered 107 regions, as well as in
the former programmes.
Out of the 107 regions where the collection of own-
ership declarations began on June 17, 2008, many
have already moved on to the next cadastral survey
phase (e.g. suspension of cadastral data), whereas
in several of them Cadastral Offices are already in
operation (initial registrations).
The 107-region programme will survey a total
area of 0.31 million hectares and lead to the reg-
istration of 6.7 million property rights, covering 2/3
of Greece’s population.
The submission of declarations by the citizens,
which is the first step of the cadastral survey pro-
cedure, was completed in December 2008. In a
six-month period, almost 2.8 million citizens
declared approximately 5.1 million ownership
rights in these regions. In addition, 17,000 legal
entities (organizations, banks, local government
authorities, etc.) declared another 700,000 own-
ership rights.
