goods (processed leather, yarns, paper, iron, steel
etc.) with €342.4 million.
In percentage terms, the largest increase con-
cerned raw materials (metal ores, timber, fibres,
crops, fertilizers etc.) whose value of exports
almost doubled as compared to November 2009
from €73.5 million to €146.1 million.
According to the PEA’s President, Christina
Sakellarides, Greece seems to shift towards a
more developed export model, given that indus-
trial products account for a much larger percent-
age of total exports than primary sector prod-
ucts. “Thanks to the Greek Exporters efforts”,
says Ms. Sakellarides, “we are moving towards
higher added value exports, and products that
incorporate innovation and Greek know-how”,
concluding that: “By abolishing bureaucratic
counter-motives, which significantly increase
the production cost of Greek products, and

fact that the number of companies listed in the
Association’s Exporters’ Register has increased by 10%,
while there has been a similar increase of company listings
in the Exporter Registers of local Chambers.
