concrete measures, in close cooperation with
the other responsible ministries and through
meaningful consultation with representatives
from the market.
● We are encouraging sustainable development
and the utilization of our substantial mineral
resources, in accordance with the highest
environmental standards. We are thereby cre-
ating new jobs, revenues for the state budget
and additional value for the economy.
● We insist on the privatization programme,
believing in its multiple benefits: the capital inflow
necessary for the development of the compa-
nies concerned, the creation of new jobs without
any further burden for the state budget and the
enhancement of competition, with significant
benefits for all types of consumers.
● We are supporting Greece’s active participation
in the planned infrastructure projects regarding
electricity and gas interconnections for the
transportation of energy from new sources in
the regions of the Caspian Sea and the east-
ern Mediterranean.
Through the aforementioned policies and actions,
we are simultaneously promoting multiple objec-
tives, so that energy can become a stable and
