that will acquire 17% of the shares owned by the
Greek state will last from the first quarter of 2015
till the first quarter of 2016 the latest. The first two
stages will be realized by the PPC with the coop-
eration of the HRADF.
Entrepreneurship
The energy efficiency of buildings and the reduc-
tion of red tape in regard to investments are also
main priorities of the Greek government. During
the Greek presidency, the MINENV leadership
will seek to present the results of its policies, in
order to promote the adoption of European-level
decisions.
Thus:

2 billion euros are being invested in Building
Energy Efficiency programmes through EU pro-
grammes. 12,000 new jobs are created in the
construction sector. This provides support to
hundreds of Greek insulation material manufac-
turers. As a result, thousands of poor households
are able to save hundreds of euros in energy
costs each year. 40,000 Greek families have
share capital increase by 49%– that will also
assume the management. This would have
been completed by December 2013. In the sec-
ond stage, the PPC will offer an additional stake
of up to 51%, for the full ownership unbundling,
which will be completed by the second quarter
of 2014. The state will retain a controlling
minority interest.
●The creation of the “small PPC”, which will be
sold in the period from June 2013 to the first
quarter of 2015. A new vertically integrated
electricity company will be created, and will be
given 30% of the incumbent’s generating
capacity. More specifically, lignite-fired capacity
of 1,400 MW with access to mines, hydro-
power plants of 500 MW and gas-fired units of
500 MW, will be transferred to the new compa-
ny. Personnel will also be transferred there. The
small PPC will be sold by tender to a private
investor.
●The privatization of the “big PPC”, by means of
