a set of legislative proposals designed to
enhance the extroversion and competitiveness of
Greek tourism.
The draft law “on the reduction of administrative
burden, the simplification of procedures and the
enhancement of tourist businesses”, which would
be tabled to Parliament in early 2013, strength-
ens, among others, the ministry’s planning role
and simplifies a series of procedures in order to
facilitate investment in tourism, also promoting
organized and composite tourist projects.
More specifically:
● The draft law introduces improvements to the
institutional framework and sets the terms and
conditions for the operation of Organized
Tourist Activity Receptors. The term “Organized
Tourist Activity Receptor” denotes an area that
is being developed, in accordance with the rel-
evant provisions, in order to serve mainly as a
hub for the development of tourism/leisure and
other tourism-related activities.
