It is time we understood that the only way is to
move forward; that we will either ride the wave, or
let it swallow us.
If we want to survive, we must be the first to
change mindsets, to set new targets. If we want to
help our country, we must focus on a new,
healthy, extrovert model of growth.
The businesses that are being honoured today
have demonstrated that they can excel by pursuing
this very vision.
Recognizing and encouraging their effort is the
least we ought to do, not only for these companies,
but for hundred other –small and large– enter-
prises that are fighting every day.
We, the Chamber community, believe that we
owe them even better representation, even better
services. This is why we are already preparing a
comprehensive proposal for reforming and
streamlining the institution of chambers.
We wouldn't have the right to preach in favour of
changing Greece's growth model if we hadn't
made an effort to correct our own flaws as well; to
change our own structure, our own mode of doing
business.
The chamber institution is, and will be, present in
the effort to build a sustainable productive econo-
my. And it will remain in the front line, as the faithful
and helpful ally of every business sector and every
Greek enterprise that dares face the future.
The Awards are bestowed to enterprises in recognition of
their activity in the business arena, as a reward for their
progress, and as a general incentive for the further promotion
of business initiatives.
