All the above will be held in multiple areas of the
SNFCC, both indoors and outdoors, while two
stages will be set up at the Stavros Niarchos
Park, and an especially designed stage will be set
at the Canal.
With particular emphasis on the musical pro-
gramme, the line-up will include, among others,
artist Leonidas Kavakos in a unique recital; Yo La
Tengo, one of the American indie rock scene’s
most influential bands; atmospheric British group
The Cinematic Orchestra; the great voice of
Belgian jazz singer Melanie De Biasio; pioneering
representative of Greece’s electronic music
scene Lena Platonos; the minimalist group Bang
On A Can All-stars; the Greek alternative scene’s
dynamic performer Monica in a collaboration with
the Symphonic Orchestra of Hellenic Radio-
Television; rapper, slam poet and New York Times

Summer Nostos Festival 2017
June 18-25
As part of its broader philanthropic activity and its
continuous support to the Stavros Niarchos
Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), the Stavros
Niarchos Foundation (SNF) establishes and sup-
ports, through an exclusive grant, the open
events that are held for one week every June at
the SNFCC, with free admission for all.
This year’s events will be held from June 18th to
June 25th, 2017, and the Festival is introduced to
the public under the name “Summer Nostos
Festival” (SNFestival), suggesting a collective
“return” to all those things that the arrival of sum-
mer means for each one of us.
The overall cultural offering, curated by the SNF
Team in collaboration with Limor Tomer, Concerts
& Lectures General Manager at the Metropolitan
Museum of New York, as well as a team of con-
sultants-experts in their respective fields, includes
classical and contemporary classical music, rock,
jazz, hip-hop and pop music concerts, perform-
