Conservatory curates and presents, for the first
time in Greece, two iconic works of musical mini-
malism. The Greek National Opera participates in
the programme by staging a performance at the
Alternative Stage, while the National Library of
Greece opens its doors to the public for the first
time. Responsibility for the general coordination
of the events lies with Mily Paschali, SNF
Programme Coordinator for Arts & Culture.
During these four days, the
Metamorphosis
pro-
gramme brings together artists of different per-
suasions and styles, such as the groundbreaking

and the project’s archi-

, aspiring to convey the
SNFCC;s vision for the creation of a space that is
freely accessible by all, belongs to the citizens, and
has been designed to accompany the creative
wanderings of Greece’s residents and visitors for
many years to come.

All events are free of charge and are exclusively
sponsored by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
•The SNFCC as a whole (buildings and open
spaces), can accommodate up to 32,000 visitors
at any given time. Of these, 4,000 visitors can be
accommodated within the buildings of the
National Library of Greece (NLG) and the Greek
National Opera (GNO), which include perform-
ance halls, lobbies, the Lighthouse, etc.
•The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural
Centre (SNFCC) represents the largest single
donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation,
and includes the construction and complete
outfitting of new premises for the National
Library of Greece and the Greek National
Opera, as well as the creation of the Stavros
Niarchos Park, which covers a total area of
210,000 m².
The events of the
Metamorphosis: The SNFCC
to the World
programme will offer the public
the opportunity to get acquainted with the
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre,
before it starts to operate under the Greek
State, which, as its future owner, will be
responsible for its management and operation.
