The year 2013 was a critical one for Greece.
●We produced a primary surplus in our budget,
for the first time in many years; as a matter of
fact, one year ahead of our adjustment pro-
gramme.
●We balanced our foreign trade for the first time
in decades. And this is strong proof that we are
not only bringing our fiscal accounts in order;
We are also correcting more fundamental struc-
tural imbalances in our economy.
●We improved our competitiveness rankings on
almost all world indices by dozens of positions.
We came a long way from the verge of collapse.
