In this context, the Pharmaceutical Forum Team
that has been established in the ACCI, is expect-
ed to launch operations in order to facilitate the
next steps of the industry's companies in Greece.
The Social
Security Funds'
pharmaceutical
expenditure
This January, the pharma-
ceutical expenses incurred
by Greek social security
funds for medicines
administered
through
pharmacies amounted to
287 million euros, margin-
ally reduced to 285 million
euros in February. Given
that the government's tar-
gets for 2012 provide for
an average monthly expenditure of no more than
240 million euros, there has been a cost overrun
of 45 million euros per month, which, if sustained,
could lead by the end of the year to a 500 million
euro deviation from the target.
